60 million DKK for promotion of market-driven economic growth and employment in developing countries

Danida Market Development Partnerships contributes to sustainable market development that promotes the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Focusing on SDG 8 the main objective is to promote sustainable local economic growth and employment in developing countries. The Partnerships programme features an innovative approach to involvement of the business sector and contributes to motivating and mobilizing investments from the private sector.

The point of departure for a partnership project is a business idea driven by one or more private businesses. The business idea must support the development objective. Danida support is provided to combine knowledge and resources from different actors with the aim to ensure wider development results. The programme thus promotes broad partnerships federating businesses, civil society organizations, knowledge institutions, business organizations and other non-commercial partners.

In 2017, DKK 60 million has been allocated in support of expectedly 6-8 partnerships. The application deadline is 15 September 2017.

Information meetings will be held in Copenhagen, Ålborg and Aarhus in the week 19-23 June 2017. Exact dates and venues will follow. Questions can be addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Department for Growth and Employment (VBE@um.dk)
