Welcome to the Global Development Network website

The Global Development Network (GDN) is a cross faculty network at University of Copenhagen focusing on the global development issues and perspectives. GDN has worked to keep students and researchers connected with on and off campus news and information about current and ongoing events, activities, and career and study opportunities related to global development. GDN has worked to keep global development issues high on the agenda of researchers and students at the university.

Important Update for 2025

Due to the conclusion of funding, GDN will undergo significant changes:

  • The IARU Global Transformation Initiative’s “Borderland” interdisciplinary course will no longer be coordinated by GDN and will not be offered in summer 2025.

  • Global development travel grants will be discontinued.

  • Student-driven initiatives, including the annual Global Development Day, will no longer take place.

Moving forward, GDN will continue as a virtual network, connecting researchers at the University of Copenhagen working on global development issues.

Thank you for your support and participation in our initiatives over the years.
