Storytelling with purpose

Responsible: Sean Connolly & James Phelan

Description: Exploring how to use storytelling in professional and personal spaces to give shape, direction, and purpose to the things we do. By writing (or using other media of storytelling), we are forced to reflect and concretize the past. This workshop will walk through some examples of how GD graduates are employing storytelling in different domains to different ends.

Alternative career paths and transferable skills sets for GD graduates

Responsible: Nick Ansell & Benjamin Barnett

Description: Workshop aimed at discussing several questions related to using your MSc qualifications to find the right career path. What career paths are available to GD graduates outside of the development industry?  How to make your GD skill set relevant to other sectors? How to keep connections to the development industry and enter it at a later stage in your career?

Impact-oriented research

Responsible: Maja Dahl Jeppesen, Melanie Brantschen, Naima Lipka, Katrine Mygind Bach

Description: How can we combine academic research with development in practice? In this workshop we get some perspectives on how we can use academic research in practice-oriented development work as well as how to incorporate an impact and solution-oriented approach or perspective to academic research.

15:00-15:30: Coffee Break

15:30-16:00: 3MT Competition

Responsible:  Mark Latona Stroh
Description: The 3-minute presentation competition will ask 6-8 volunteers to prepare an engaging powerpoint presentation (3 slides) on the work they are doing.

Responsible: Maja Dahl Jeppesen, Katrine Mygind Bach, Beatrice Gibertini
