Clearing the Path for Peace in South Sudan

The discussion will focus on armed violence against civilians and the response to it in South Sudan where thousands of people have been killed and more than 1.4 million displaced during the still ongoing crisis, and where landmines and contamination from explosive remnants of war are a big threat for development.

A panel of speakers consisting of Tammy Hall, Head of Danish Demining Group, Richard MacCormac, Head of DCA Humanitarian Mine Action, Holger Bernt Hansen, Professor Emeritus, Centre of African Studies, Henrik Laugesen, Major, Ph.D. Student, Royal Danish Defence College/Centre of African Studies, Jairo Munive Rincon, Postdoc, DIIS will discuss these questions more thoroughly.
