During the past month of July, 28 students from around the world arrived in Chiang Mai for the summer course Borderland: Critical Approaches to Field Research and Engagement in the Global South. Watch the video from the 2024 edition of the Field Summer Course and get a glimpse into how the course is structured and the amazing experiences and insights shared by the students.

It is a summer course that takes place in Chiang Mai, Thailand, worth 7.5 ECTS points, and is an initiative developed as part of the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) network.  

The course provides you with 1 week of lectures revolving around this years theme on migration, mobilities and immobilities in context of Borderlands, by professors from world leading universities. It gives you 2 weeks of practical experience interning with a local NGO or an ongoing research project in Chiang Mai, and 1 week of exposure and insights into developing a research proposal that can be used for future research careers.
